from contact...Actor TOM ARNOLD attempted to persuade BRITNEY SPEARS to enter a 12-step substance abuse program two years ago after finding her slumped in the hallway of his apartment building.
He reveals she was married to Kevin Federline when they shared a neighboring apartment - and one day Arnold found the singer considerably confused on the stairwell. He recalls, "I tripped on her... She waited for an hour and a half for Kevin to come up in the elevator and find her and go, 'Oh my God, honey, are you OK?' and help her in. Now that's sad."
