How to Vote in The Primary Election

Are you Ready for the Primary Election? Voters who plan to participate inthe upcoming March 4, 2008 primary election, should make sure they:
 are registered to vote;
 know where their polling place is located;
 ask for the type of ballot they wish to vote;
 completely fill in the box on their ballot next to the candidate or answer they choose.

The primary is a nominating election where you choose a candidate from a political party to be on the ballot for the following November general election. When you participate in the nominating process you become affiliated with the party of your choice until the next primary election, therefore youshould know which party ballot to request when you go to the polls or request an absentee ballot. In Ohio your party choices are Democrat and Republican. If you are not interested in declaring a party or nominating a candidateto run for an office, you can choose to vote only on issues by requesting an Issues Only Ballot.

If you did not receive a notice of election or do not remember your voting precinct or location, contact the voter registration department at 632-7025 to determine whether you are registered to vote and /or where your polling place is located. You can also find this information by using the registeredvoter and polling location wizards at
http://www.votehamiltoncounty.org/. Polls are open until 7:30PM.
