Doctor Seuss's Horton Hears a Who stamped its way to the top of the weekend box office. The computer-animated movie, about an elephant who discovers a tiny planet of "Whos," earned 45-point-one-million dollars in its first three days of release, the best opening of the year. The flick features the voices of Jim Carrey and Steve Carell.
Last weekend's number-one movie, 10-Thousand B-C, slipped to second with 16-point-four-million dollars. The prehistoric action movie has made 61-point-two-million bucks in 10 days.
The mixed martial arts movie Never Back Down opened in third with eight-point-six million dollars.
College Road Trip, a comedy starring Martin Lawrence and Raven-Symone, landed in fourth with seven-point-nine-million dollars, and the political thriller Vantage Point rounded out the Top 5 with five-point-four million.
