Simpson Wanted Heat

One of O-J Simpson's former co-defendants testified yesterday that the former football star and murder suspect asked the people accompanying him to a showdown with a sports memorabilia dealer to carry guns.

Walter Alexander, who cut a plea deal, said Simpson asked him and Michael McClinton, "Do you think you can get some heat? You know just in case things go wrong. Can you bring some heat?" Simpson and a group of cohorts are accused of busting into a Las Vegas hotel room and forcibly taking memorabilia Simpson claimed belonged to him.

Alexander claimed that when he asked, "What if the police come?" Simpson responded, "[Bleep] the police...What are they going to do, take me to jail for taking my [stuff]?"
