E-Mail From Our Cali Q102 Correspondent

Good afternoon Brian and Laura!
Hope Laura is feeling better :)

As you know, I am in the middle of the Writers Guild of America strike here in Southern California. Every studio here in Burbank has a presence with the striking writers picketing in front of the gates. While security and police enforcement has been increased, the strikers remain peaceful and are simply there to get their message across, not start trouble.

Yesterday I had a chance to chat with a few of them and it opened my eyes to who these people really are. They are not the stereotypical Los Angeles television and studio worker, they were normal people. Some older, some younger, an equal mix of men and women. They were extremely friendly with me and had an overall positive attitude to get this issue resolved.

During my short time with these people, I witnessed an enormous amount of support coming from drivers passing by. Many were honking, some even went so far as to bring air horns to sound as they drove by. The cheers of support heard were more than I imagined and showed that this strike has somehow affected people in ways more than just their nightly programs reverting to reruns.

I have included photos from yesterday with this email that you are free to post on your website and share with Cincinnati. Hope everyone has a wonderful afternoon, stay warm!

All my best,
Mandy Nagel
