Weekend Box Office

Vantage Point took the top spot at the weekend box office. The political thriller, starring Dennis Quaid and Matthew Fox, earned 24-million dollars in its first three days of release.

Last weekend's number-one movie, Jumper, slipped to second with 12-point-seven-million. The sci-fi thriller, starring Hayden Christensen, has earned 56-point-two-million in two weeks.

The children's fantasy The Spiderwick Chronicles was a close third with 12-point-six-million bucks.

The urban dance sequel Step Up 2 the Streets was fourth with nine-point-eight-million, and Fool's Gold, starring Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson, was fifth with six-point-three-million.

The Jack Black comedy Be Kind, Rewind opened in seventh with four-point-one-million dollars.
