New On DVD Today

Oscar contenders head to D-V-D this week. George Clooney is up for Best Actor for Michael Clayton, a drama about a former criminal prosecutor who now covers up corporate misdeeds. Tom Wilkinson (The Full Monty), Tilda Swinton (Chronicles of Narnia) and Sydney Pollack co-star. It's up for a total of seven Oscars, including Best Picture. The D-V-D has commentary and deleted scenes.

Tommy Lee Jones competes with Clooney for the Oscar with In the Valley of Elah, starring Jones as the father of an Iraq war veteran who goes missing. Charlize Theron, Jason Patric, James Franco, Josh Brolin and Susan Sarandon co-star. The D-V-D has a deleted scene and the featurettes "After Iraq," and "Coming Home."

Ruby Dee is up for a supporting actress Oscar for American Gangster, starring Denzel Washington in the true tale of a New York City drug kingpin-turned-police informant. Russell Crowe co-stars. The film also features Josh Brolin, Cuba Gooding Junior, Armand AssanteCommon. The D-V-D has commentary, an alternate opening, deleted scenes, four behind-the-scene featurettes and five making-of specials. and hip-hop star

Sisters squabble at a wedding ceremony in the comedy-drama Margot at the Wedding with Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Jack Black. The D-V-D has commentary.

The political thriller Rendition stars Reese Witherspoon as the wife of a terror suspect, and Jake Gyllenhaal as a C-I-A agent involved in a questionable interrogation. On the D-V-D you'll find an alternate ending, deleted scenes, a making-of special and the interrogation documentary Outlawed.
