If Britney Spears' father had his way, she'd have been hospitalized months before her recent meltdown. T-M-Z reports that Jamie Spearshas been pleading with the singer to get help for the bipolar disorder that he -- and others -- considers to be her problem. She's refused to undergo any psychological testing, but her dad is said to be continuing his quest to change her mind.
Britney's also getting some advice from American Idol judge Simon Cowell, who tells Britain's Sun newspaper, "I'd have told her, 'Stay with your mum, don't go out with your stupid friends, just live normally.' You'd be amazed -- you live normally, and suddenly everything becomes normal. All that craziness, being followed around and all that stuff, it's going to do your head in. But you can get away from it if you want to."
