The 50th annual Grammy Awards are scheduled to happen next month on February 10th in Los Angeles. There has been some conversation and whispers recently about whether the writers strike would put a halt to them.
They have asked for an interim agreement to be worked out so they they could write for the show but that doesn't look likely, however that just means less silly jokes on stage and more performances. Not necessarily a bad thing in my book.
If the writers do stage a picket, it gets a little sticky when comes to the artists who are also actors like Beyonce, Timberlake and Bon Jovi.
One industry exec bets that, in the end, the stars' music loyalties will win out: "While artists respect the writers, they will still attend the awards. The Grammys are a highly coveted celebration and a symbol of credibility to their peers." Grammy organizers, not to mention legions of music fans, are surely hoping that's right.
