Hospital workers who allegedly sneaked a peek at George Clooney's confidential medical records have been suspended without pay.
A total of 27 staff at the Palisades Medical Center in New Jersey where the Hollywood actor was admitted after sustaining injuries in a motorcycle crash last month have been suspended for four weeks.
The 46-year-old actor, whose girlfriend Sarah Larson also broke a toe in the incident, has said he hoped the hospital would not be too harsh on the medical workers.
"This is the first I've heard of it," Clooney said in a statement.
"And while I very much believe in a patient's right to privacy, I would hope that this could be settled without suspending medical workers."
