New On DVD Today

Transformers is available on D-V-D today. The live-action update of the '80s cartoon stars Shia LaBeouf [pr: SHY-uh Lah-BUFF] as kid who unwittingly buys a car that's actually an alien robot involved in a robot-versus-robot war. Josh Duhamel, Bernie Mac, John Turturro, Tyrese Gibson, Jon Voight and Anthony Anderson co-star. The jam-packed D-V-D has commentary, a featurette with producer Steven Spielberg and six making-of specials.
Planet Terror is also available. Director Robert Rodriguez's half of the Grindhouse double feature stars Rose McGowan as a gun-legged woman who faces an army of zombies. Freddy Rodriguez co-stars in the Quentin Tarrantino-produced flick.The D-V-D has commentary, a poster gallery, specials on the stunts and special effects.
The drama A Mighty Heart stars Angelina Jolie as the wife of real-life Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, who was abducted and murdered in Pakistan in 2002. The D-V-D has a making-of featurette.
The horror flick The Reaping stars Hilary Swank as a myth buster who heads to a small religious town to debunk a young boy's supernatural claims. Anna Sophia Robb (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) co-stars. On the D-V-D you'll find interviews, a special on the film's small town and a featurette showing work with real locusts.
The Hoax stars Richard Gere in the true tale of an author who published a bogus biography of reclusive billionaire Howard Hughes. Alfred Molina, Marcia Gay Harden, Julie Delpy and Hope Davis co-star. The D-V-D has commentary, a making-of special and 13 minutes of deleted scenes.
T-V that's new to D-V-D includes the first and only season of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, the third season of Medium and the seventh season of That '70s Show.
