After more than a year of legal wrangling, actor Wesley Snipes will be center stage in an Ocala, Florida courtroom today when his tax fraud trial gets under way.
The I-R-S claims the Blade star filed for more than 11-million dollars in false tax refunds and failed to file tax returns for six years.
His attorney said all he did was ask the I-R-S about innovative ways to save on his taxes, something "every other American is entitled to." Jury selection begins today -- the trial should take about a month. If convicted, Snipes faces up to 16 years in prison.
