Big At The Box Office

The Bucket List, starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, was the number-one movie in the country over the weekend. The comedy, about two cancer patients who make the most of their final days, earned 19-point-five-million dollars after two weeks in limited release.

Ice Cube's comedy First Sunday was a close second in its debut with 19-million bucks.

The teen-pregnancy comedy Juno dropped one spot to third with 14-million dollars.

The box-office champ for the last three weekends, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, fell to fourth with 11-point-five million, raising its total to 187-point-three million.

Alvin and the Chipmunks spent its fifth weekend in the Top 5 at number-five. The kid's movie earned nine-point-one-million dollars, taking its gross to 187-point-seven million.

The weekend's two other new releases, the children's movie The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything and In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale, were dead on arrival, finishing in ninth and 14th place, respectively. --James Aquilone
