Last Night On Dancing With The Stars

The Dancing With the Stars dance floor became the back alley last night when the "greasers" took on the "jocks" in the season's first 1950's inspired group dance off to Bobby Day's "Rockin' Robin." It's also the first time the home and studio audience saw legal lifts this season.

The group dance added an extra voting component to the evening as the judges were excused from raising their paddles on this particular number and left the scoring to fans alone.

The judges did have numbers for the individual partner dances, and in a surprising turn, consistent leaders Sabrina Bryan and partner Mark Ballas find themselves in the middle of the pack with a 25 for their fox trot. Spice Girl Mel B. and partner Maksim Chmerkovsky got a first perfect 30 for a sizzling hot rumba, while Doctor Quinn's Jane Seymour and Tony Dovolani sunk to the bottom with their juiceless jive.

One Less Court Date for Kid Rock

The dust-up between Pam Anderson exes Tommy Lee and Kid Rock during September's M-T-V Video Music Awards won't be going to court. Las Vegas prosecutors announced yesterday that they "will not pursue battery charges against Robert James Ritchie, a-k-a Kid Rock, involving a confrontation with Tommy Lee."

According to the statement, Lee didn't want the incident prosecuted. Rock walked up to Lee and sucker punched him while Alicia Keys was performing onstage.

Lohan Not Doing Vegas On NYE

For the second time this year, Lindsay Lohan has backed out of hosting a party in Las Vegas.
As recently as last week, Lohan was scheduled to attend a New Year's Eve blowout at Vegas nightclub LAX, but today her rep tells Usmagazine.com, "Lindsay will no longer be hosting New Year's Eve in Las Vegas."

The announcement should come as no surprise to those close to Lohan. Last week, a source told Us that "Lindsay doesn't necessarily want to host but she's contractually obligated," due to the 21st birthday plans at LAX sister-club PURE that she had to scrap in July in order to go to rehab.
Lohan's rep says the actress, who has been out of rehab at Utah's Cirque Lodge for less than a month, "continues to focus on her work and sobriety."

Still, that doesn't mean a Vegas party isn't in Lohan's future. A source tells Us, that the deal between Lohan and PURE remains in place, and "they will both wait for a day" when she can host an event for the company, perhaps even "another year from now.”

One of my favorite shows premieres tonight at 10p on F/X. Christian and Sean have packed up and moved to Hollywood for this season. I loved the show when it was set in South Beach but cant wait to see what they get into in Tinseltown.

“Tons of girls were coming up to his table and introducing themselves, and Shia seemed to love getting recognized,” the witness added. "He was in a really good mood and was really nice to everybody who approached him.”

The actor was overheard saying, “I’m relatively new to the scene” but was ready “to party” and "chat with ladies."

Ellen Does The Deal

ELLEN DeGENERES is set to appear on the hit NBC game show "Deal or No Deal," according to TVGuide.com. The Emmy-winning talk show host will be the very first celebrity model toting one of the 26 briefcases and possibly the million-dollar bag! Ellen will tape her appearance on November 9, with the episode airing this January.

And Ellen won't be the only star heading to the popular show. "The Office" castmates ANGELA KINSEY, OSCAR NUNEZ and BRIAN BAUMGARTNER will also make an appearance -- as their characters -- on December 12.

Blood Sells

The Saw tradition continues. The fourth installment in the annual series topped the weekend box office with 32-point-one-million dollars. It's the third straight movie in the horror franchise's history to open at number-one. Since 2004, a Saw movie has opened every year on the weekend before Halloween.

Dan in Real Life opened in second. The comedy, which stars Steve Carell as an advice columnist who falls in love with his brother's girlfriend, took in 12-point-one-million dollars.

Last weekend's number-one movie, the vampire flick 30 Days of Night, dropped to third with six-point-seven-million dollars.

BRITNEY SPEARS shocked onlookers by launching into a bizarre outburst in court on Friday. The singer and her ex-husband Kevin Federline were appearing at Los Angeles Superior Court early on Friday afternoon to testify at the latest hearing in the custody battle over their two children.

Spears was given permission to see Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one, this weekend, but not before storming out of the hearing yelling, screaming and cursing.

The judge is taking the case under consideration and has issued no ruling. A written ruling is expected early this week

JESSICA SIMPSON has become the latest in a long line of female celebrities to launch her own perfume. Jess has signed a deal with Parlux fragrances - the company behind Paris Hilton's scent range - with Simpson joining the likes of Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez and Sarah Jessica Parker with her new smelly sideline.

The as-yet-unnamed perfume is expected to hit shelves in summer next year (08). But it's not Simpson's first foray into the cosmetic world - the star released beauty range Dessert in 2004, which promised to make the wearer "look and feel as good as you taste."

Jack Bauer Almost Wasn't Played By Kiefer

24 creator JOEL SURNOW almost overlooked KIEFER SUTHERLAND when casting for the role of JACK BAUER - because he was looking for someone younger. Surnow admits he was keen to cast a more youthful actor as lead in the action series, but changed his mind when he found the then 34-year-old Sutherland.

He says, "We'd conceived Jack as a guy who had a 16-year-old daughter but was still youthful enough to appeal to the Fox audience, which is skewed towards 'young'.

"When we heard Kiefer's name it was like, 'Bingo, this is the perfect guy.' He's got enough miles on him but he still has echoes of the Brat Pack films he's associated with."

Daniel Dae Kim (plays Jin on the show) became the latest cast member of Lost to get busted for driving under the influence early yesterday morning when he was pulled over just outside Honolulu. Police said he was arrested around three a-m, posted bail and was released two hours later.

Aloha State cops are used to dealing with the show's cast -- former members Michele Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros were busted for D-U-I in 2005, and star Adewale Akinnoye-Agabaje (also known as "Mr. Eko") was arrested for driving without a license. He, too, was cut loose from the cast shortly thereafter.

Friday's Britney Story

Britney Spears had an unusually good run of luck in California yesterday (Thursday), thanks in part to a judge who dismissed hit-and-run charges filed against her earlier this summer over a parking-lot fender-bender. She pleaded not guilty to a related charge of driving without a valid license, but won't have to deal with that case until a hearing slated for late November.

The singer also did well at the first meeting in a six-session parenting class where she and Kevin Federline will work on their conflicts and the well-being of their sons.

As usual, Spears was pursued by paparazzi when she left the class -- but one sympathetic cop forced a group of cameramen to provide identification, allowing Spears to slip away.

Lindsay Lohan's Movie Life

In order to get insurance for her new movie, Lindsay Lohan has agreed not to drive a car until the filming is over. Any visitors to the set will be searched for drugs. She is being paid $800,000 for the shoot which is not bad but no where near the $8 Million she received for "Mean Girls."

She is also tested for drugs and alcohol at least twice a week and they have the right to call for an immediate test any time they're suspicious.

Are Deborah Gibson and American Idol alum Constantine Maroulis making sweet music together?

Usmagazine.com spotted the pair walking hand in hand in NYC October 23.

Maroulis, 32, says he and Gibson, 37, began hanging out after meeting at the Broadway revival of Grease in August.

“She's a sweetheart,” he tells Us. “She's classy, has built a nice career and doesn't drink or do drugs. We're close, and it's cool."

And, he adds, he doesn’t have to worry about any awkward silences on dates.

“We have a lot of mutual friends, and we both have a theater background, so we have a lot in common," he tells Us. “She's great!"

Lindsay Clubbin On NYE In Vegas

Less than a month after leaving Utah’s Cirque Lodge, Lindsay Lohan is poised to make a comeback to the club scene. A source tells Usmagazine.com the actress, 21, is set to host a New Year’s blowout at Las Vegas hot spot LAX.

But Lohan isn’t exactly breaking out the noisemakers about the gig. “Lindsay doesn’t necessarily want to host, but she’s contractually obligated,” a source says.

The source tells Us Lohan took on the gig in order to pay back the “hundreds of thousands of dollars” she got by agreeing to host her 21st birthday in Sin City at PURE Nightclub (which, like LAX, is owned by Pure Management Group). Lohan was forced to scrap the July 2 bash to focus on her treatment in rehab.

Adds the source, “She already took the money from the birthday gig and can’t afford to pay them back.” Her rep had no comment

Last Night On DWTS

What seems to be a curse of sorts on this season's Dancing With the Stars may be leaving some nerves on edge. Jennifer Lopez, who was scheduled to perform live on last night's show, taped her performance due to a family emergency -- sadly, her ailing grandmother died Sunday. Last week, guest star Gloria Estefan canceled her appearance to be with her mother, who was recovering from surgery. And earlier this season, Jane Seymour's mother died.

Fortunately Marie Osmond, who fainted after her performance on Monday's show, was back in full humor and will continue to compete. But Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban will not. Mark and professional partner Kym Johnson seemed to expect they'd be the latest cut, and smiled through their final dance -- done to Tiffany's "I Think We're Alone Now." Next week's competition is taken up a notch as the couples perform a dance they haven't done yet and a group number.

The stars are really coming out in support of their peers on the ballroom floor. In this week's audience were Florence Henderson, Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott, a variety of Osmond Brothers, and last season's contestant Heather Mills.

Shows Have To Stop Production

A number of T-V's biggest hits -- including 24 and C-S-I -- were forced to halt production yesterday as Southern California was inundated with wildfires that burned hundreds of thousands of acres and destroyed dozens of buildings.

Publicists for C-S-I told Access Hollywood they postponed shoots in the Santa Clarita area, while production on FOX's 24 was cancelled on Monday and Tuesday "due to nearby fires" in the Orange County area.

Wednesday's 2nd Britney Story

The woman who was supposed to teach Britney Spears how to be a good parent says the pop tart has as much chance of learning that skill as Stephen Hawking has of running a marathon. T-M-Z reports that the coach, whose name was not released, has submitted a two-and-a-half page report to a California family court stating that Britney refused to listen to a single parenting tip and that the singer lives in her own little world ignoring her sons for hours on end.

Rather than interact with Sean Preston and Jayden James, Brit prefers talking on the phone and trying on new clothes -- not exactly good credentials for her upcoming attempt to regain 50-percent custody of the lads.
