Two Big Shows Say Goodbye Tonight

A-B-C will stop airing Ugly Betty after tonight's episode, which finds "Betty" (America Ferrera) on a bad double-date. The writer's strike has halted production of the show, which has three more finished episodes that are slated to air on January 3rd, 10th, and 17th. Ferrera has been with the writers on the picket lines.

A-B-C's Grey's Anatomy airs its last completed episode of the season tonight with a paramedic trapped inside an ambulance. Production has been halted by the writer's strike. Katherine Heigl, who has an Emmy for playing "Doctor Izzie Stevens," walked the picket lines carrying a banner saying "Nick Counter is a Weiner," a reference to the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers president. --Bill McCleary
