24 star Kiefer Sutherland started serving a 48-day bid for drunk driving charges last night. According to T-M-Z-dot-com, Kiefer checked into the Glendale City Jail at 5:30 p-m yesterday and was processed immediately.
The website spoke with Glendale Police Chief Randy Adams, who said, "The fact that he's a celebrity -- he checked that at the door when he checked in." Kiefer won't be sharing a cell, but he'll be doing laundry and kitchen duties during his stay. Sutherland was planning to turn himself in on December 21st -- his 41st birthday -- to serve his sentence while 24 was on hiatus. But the current writers' strike allowed him to move that schedule up.
